Saudi Falcon Auction Records SAR3.558 Million in October Sales

November 1 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The National Center for Falcons’ auction generated SAR3.558 million in October sales across 14 nights of bidding, marking the end of the first half of Saudi Arabia’s local falcon capture season.
“Umm Khansar” led the month’s sales at SAR375,000. The peregrine falcon was captured by seven falconers.
“Al-Shabaan,” a peregrine captured by three falconers south of Umluj, ranked second at SAR360,000. “Al-Hilwah,” captured by three falconers in the Empty Quarter, sold for SAR221,000, the third-highest price in October.
The auction provides a venue for falconers to offer their birds to buyers through competitive bidding.
It continues until November 30, coinciding with the end of the capture season, and accepts only young migratory peregrine falcons captured within Saudi Arabia.
