Saudi Civil Defense Urges Public Caution Ahead of Expected Thunderstorms

Riyadh, November 13, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Directorate of Civil Defense has urged the public to take precautionary measures and remain in safe locations, advising residents to avoid valleys, areas prone to flash floods, and swimming in them, amid forecasts of thunderstorms across most regions of the Kingdom from Friday through Monday.

The directorate said the Makkah Region is expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall that may cause flash floods, hail, and dust storms. Riyadh is forecast to experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by dust.

According to the advisory, the regions of Madinah, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders, Hail, Qassim, Eastern Region, Al-Baha, Aseer, and Jazan are likely to face moderate to heavy rain, while Tabuk is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall.

The Civil Defense called on the public to follow updates issued by the National Center for Meteorology and adhere to safety instructions released through official channels.
