Saudi Cabinet Reviews Regional Developments, Approves Series of International Agreements

Riyadh, October 7, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session in Riyadh, which discussed regional developments—particularly in the occupied Palestinian territories—and welcomed steps responding to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war on Gaza, release all hostages, and immediately begin negotiations on implementation mechanisms, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Cabinet reviewed recent international meetings hosted by the Kingdom, reiterating Saudi Arabia’s commitment to multilateral dialogue, joint coordination, global peace and security, and development.
Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the Cabinet commended the Munich Security Conference leaders’ meeting in AlUla, which addressed regional developments, global food security, climate and energy issues, and international trade and economic cooperation.
The Cabinet praised outcomes of the second regular session of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, hosted by the Kingdom, noting first-year achievements that enhance joint action and cooperation toward a secure and reliable Arab cyberspace. It also highlighted the fifth Global Cybersecurity Forum held in Riyadh under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, citing launches and initiatives that affirmed the Kingdom’s global leadership in cybersecurity and support for international partnerships.
Ministers welcomed Saudi Arabia’s selection to host the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development in 2029, reflecting the Kingdom’s standing and contributions to culture’s developmental role.
Domestically, the Cabinet reviewed preliminary indicators of the 2026 state general budget, confirming continued support for comprehensive growth, development and social spending, while strengthening the Kingdom’s fiscal position and sustaining public finances in line with structural reforms under Saudi Vision 2030.
The Cabinet addressed other items and issued the following decisions:
Foreign affairs: Authorized the Minister of Foreign Affairs, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft MoU on political consultations with Thailand.
Agriculture: Authorized the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft MoU in agriculture with Azerbaijan.
Health: Approved an MoU on cooperation in the health sector with Egypt.
Statistics: Approved an MoU on statistical cooperation between the General Authority for Statistics and Statistics Estonia.
Education: Approved establishing a University of New Haven branch in Riyadh.
