Riyadh, December 30, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet reiterated on Tuesday that the Kingdom would not hesitate to take necessary measures to confront any threats to its national security and said it hoped the United Arab Emirates would respond to Yemen’s request for the withdrawal of Emirati forces from Yemen within 24 hours, according to a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Cabinet session, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, discussed regional developments and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Yemen’s security, stability and sovereignty, expressing full support for the president of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and the recognised government.

It commended the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen for its role in protecting civilians in Hadramout and Al-Mahara and for efforts to de-escalate tensions in response to the request of the president of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, aimed at achieving security and stability and preventing the expansion of the conflict.

The Cabinet expressed regret over the outcome of the Kingdom’s efforts to de-escalate tensions, saying these were met with an unjustified escalation that contradicts the foundations upon which the coalition was established and is inconsistent with promises the Kingdom received from the United Arab Emirates.

It said it hoped wisdom would prevail and that the principles of brotherhood and good neighborliness would be upheld, consistent with the close relations uniting Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the interests of Yemen. It also said it hoped the UAE would cease any military or financial support to the Southern Transitional Council or any other party within Yemen, and take steps to preserve bilateral relations between the two countries.

King Salman briefed the Cabinet on a message received from Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding relations between the two nations, the statement said. The Cabinet also reviewed government activities aimed at strengthening ties with brotherly and friendly nations and commended the outcomes of the third meeting of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council, citing progress in economic, trade, industrial, energy and investment sectors.

The Cabinet reaffirmed support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and safety of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and rejected the declaration of mutual recognition between the Israeli occupation authorities and the so-called “Somaliland region,” saying it legitimises unilateral separatist measures that violate international law.

On humanitarian efforts, the Cabinet reviewed Saudi Arabia’s continued provision of health, education and food aid globally. Domestically, it reviewed Vision 2030 development strategies focused on quality of life and commended the start of implementation of the third phase of the Riyadh Main and Ring Road Axes Development Program.

The Cabinet also issued decisions, including approving draft agreements and memoranda covering energy cooperation with Pakistan, a headquarters agreement with the General Secretariat of the Green Middle East Initiative, judicial cooperation with Hungary, communications and IT cooperation with Palestine, authorising the Minister of Economy and Planning to sign a draft memorandum with the World Economic Forum, health cooperation with Iraq, customs cooperation with Tajikistan, accession to the Beijing Convention (2010) on unlawful acts relating to international civil aviation, an air services agreement with Serbia, engagement with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs on a cooperation memorandum, an agreement with UNESCO on establishing a regional center for dialogue and peace under UNESCO’s auspices, and a cooperation memorandum with Kazakhstan’s National Archives.
