Saudi cabinet chaired by Crown Prince condemns Gaza ceasefire violations, approves cooperation accords

Riyadh, February 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reviewed regional and international developments and reiterated support for resolving disputes through dialogue to strengthen security and stability, Saudi Press Agency reported.


The cabinet underscored a statement by foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia and Arab and Islamic countries condemning what it described as Israeli violations of the Gaza ceasefire, and said the violations undermine efforts to consolidate the truce, establish stability and advance a second phase of a peace plan aimed at a just and lasting settlement enabling an independent Palestinian state.


In details carried by SPA, Salman Al-Dossary outlined the session’s outcomes, including cabinet praise for steps leading to a ceasefire agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, backed by Saudi Arabia and the United States, aimed at supporting peace, security, stability and national unity in Syria.


The cabinet also reviewed the Kingdom’s hosted meetings and conferences, including the second ministerial council meeting of the Green Middle East Initiative, which approved new members, bringing participation to 35 countries, and adopted steps toward an operational and developmental phase. The meeting renewed commitments including planting more than 22 billion trees and rehabilitating 92 million hectares.


It also commended outcomes of the International Conference on Data & AI Capacity Building, citing the launch of multiple initiatives and the signing of 27 agreements aimed at strengthening international academic partnerships, knowledge transfer and technology localisation in line with national strategy objectives.


The cabinet highlighted outcomes of the fifth Real Estate Future Forum, which SPA reported resulted in 80 agreements and memoranda of understanding, and reviewed the Saudi Media Forum held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, including strategic agreements and initiatives linked to digital transformation and content development.


The cabinet reviewed government-sector achievements, including the start of the National Privatization Strategy, described as supporting economic diversification and the private sector’s role in development. It also reviewed development projects launched in industrial cities in Makkah and Jeddah aimed at supporting localisation of priority industries, developing local content and facilitating business operations.


Among decisions, the cabinet approved a draft general cooperation agreement with Cyprus, and authorised discussions on a memorandum with the League of Arab States in Arabic language services through the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language.


It approved draft memoranda with International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) and with Ministry of Communications (Brazil) in the postal sector, and authorised the signing of two draft agreements with Harvard University.


The cabinet also approved a draft air transport services agreement with Finland, approved accession to the International Thoroughbred Breeders' Federation, and approved a draft cooperation agreement between the Saudi Presidency of State Security and the State Security Service of Uzbekistan on combating terrorism and its financing.


It approved draft memoranda between the Saudi General Court of Audit and audit institutions in South Korea and Mexico, and endorsed implementing two guiding frameworks adopted by the Gulf Cooperation Council supreme council meeting in Doha on combating narcotics and psychotropic substances and on field response procedures to hazardous materials incidents.
