Hanoi, October 26, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by National Cybersecurity Authority Governor Eng. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Mazyed, has signed the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The signing places Saudi Arabia among the first countries to endorse the international agreement — the first of its kind under the auspices of the United Nations — aimed at combating cybercrime on a global scale.
The convention, signed during a high-level ceremony held on October 25–26, represents the first UN multilateral treaty in more than two decades dedicated to crime prevention and the first binding international agreement addressing cybercrime specifically.
The agreement was developed within the framework of the Ad Hoc Committee to Elaborate a Comprehensive International Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes, with Saudi Arabia playing an active role in shaping the final text adopted by the committee.
