Saudi Arabia’s capital is attacked by drones for the second time Sunday

RIYADH, March 8, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said on Sunday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed three drones over Riyadh.
Earlier in the day, the ministry reported that a drone aimed at Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter — where several foreign missions, including the United States Embassy, are located — had been intercepted and destroyed.
Another drone was also destroyed in the Empty Quarter desert as it was heading toward the Shaybah oil field.
No further details were immediately provided.
