Riyadh, November 2 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – AlUla has received three regional titles at the 2025 World Travel Awards, further consolidating its position as a leading cultural and tourism destination in the Middle East.

The historic site in northwestern Saudi Arabia was named the Middle East’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project 2025, the Middle East’s Leading Festival and Event Destination 2025, and Saudi Arabia’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project 2025.

Founded in 1993, the World Travel Awards recognise excellence across the global travel, tourism, and hospitality industries.

This year’s recognition marks the third consecutive time AlUla has received the same regional honours, after winning in 2024 and securing the Middle East’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project title in 2023. The continued success reflects growing international interest and the destination’s focus on sustainable and community-based tourism centred on heritage.

AlUla is home to Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its well-preserved Nabataean tombs. The region boasts archaeological sites, desert landscapes and a calendar of cultural and entertainment events under the AlUla Moments banner.

Authorities say AlUla’s tourism strategy aims to blend preservation of archaeological assets with high-end hospitality and international programming to attract global visitors.
