Saudi Arabia’s air passenger traffic rose 9.6% in 2025 to about 140.9 mln, aviation statistics show

Riyadh, January 30, 2026 (SABN) – Saudi Arabia recorded record growth in air traffic in 2025, with passenger numbers rising 9.6%, outperforming regional rates and supported by tourism growth, global events and expanding international air connectivity, according to 2025 aviation statistics.
The Kingdom’s airports handled about 140.9 million passengers, including 76 million international and 65 million domestic passengers, the statistics showed.
Flights increased 8.3% to around 980,400, indicating continued recovery in the sector, according to the figures.
King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah accounted for 38% of total passenger traffic, with a daily average of 146,000 passengers, and a capacity utilisation rate of 107%, the statistics showed. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh accounted for 29% of total passengers with a daily average of 112,000 passengers.
Madinah and Dammam airports recorded capacity utilisation rates exceeding 137% and 112%, respectively, the figures showed.
International connectivity reached 176 destinations, with a frequency rate of 52 flights or more per year, according to the statistics.
The Cairo–Jeddah route ranked second globally with 5.8 million seats, while the Dubai–Riyadh route ranked seventh globally with 4.5 million seats, the figures showed.
Air cargo volumes totalled 1.18 million tons, with Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam airports accounting for the largest share, according to the statistics.
