Saudi Arabia Records 21,320 Residency, Labor and Border Violations in One Week

Riyadh, March 14 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia recorded 21,320 violations of residency, labor and border security laws during inspection campaigns carried out across the Kingdom between March 5 and March 11, the Ministry of Interior said.
The total included 15,339 residency violations, 3,687 border security violations and 2,294 labor law violations, according to the ministry.
Border authorities also apprehended 1,683 people attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally, including 36% Yemenis, 62% Ethiopians and 2% of other nationalities. Another 72 people were arrested while attempting to leave the country illegally.
The ministry said 22 people were arrested for transporting, sheltering or employing violators, while 21,573 expatriates — including 19,965 men and 1,608 women — are currently undergoing enforcement procedures.
It added that 14,363 violators were instructed to contact their embassies or consulates to obtain travel documents, 2,206 were told to make travel arrangements, and 8,104 were repatriated.
The ministry warned that facilitating illegal entry into the Kingdom, transporting violators, or providing shelter or assistance can carry penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SAR 1 million. Vehicles and properties used in such activities may also be confiscated, it added.
Authorities urged the public to report violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Region, or 999 and 996 in other areas of the Kingdom.
