Saudi Arabia records 14,154 residency, labour and border violations in one week

RIYADH, August 1 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi authorities recorded 14,154 residency, labour and border security violations during inspections conducted across the Kingdom from July 23 to 29.
The total included 7,103 residency violations, 3,654 border security offences and 3,397 breaches of labour laws.
Border authorities detained 1,418 people attempting to enter Saudi Arabia illegally. Yemenis accounted for 54% of the total, Ethiopians for 45% and other nationalities for 1%.
Another 23 people were detained while attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally, while 17 were arrested for transporting, sheltering or employing violators.
Authorities said 30,679 expatriates — 28,187 men and 2,492 women — were undergoing enforcement procedures.
A further 17,903 people were instructed to contact their embassies or consulates for travel documents, 5,424 were told to arrange their departure and 12,613 were repatriated.
Facilitating illegal entry may result in up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to SAR1 million and the confiscation of vehicles or properties used in the offence.
