Saudi Arabia Provides Grant of 1.65 Million Barrels of Crude Oil to Syria Through SFD


Riyadh, September 11, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia, under the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has provided a grant of 1,650,000 barrels of crude oil to the Syrian Arab Republic.


The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Ministry of Energy to implement the grant. The agreement was signed by SFD CEO Sultan Al-Marshad and Syrian Minister of Energy Mohammed Al Bashir.


The initiative is aimed at supporting the operations of Syrian refineries, ensuring operational and financial sustainability, and contributing to economic development. It also seeks to address economic challenges, foster the growth of vital sectors, and advance sustainable development goals.


The grant reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to improve the living conditions of the Syrian people and builds on the close relations between the two countries.
