Saudi Arabia continues to host ABB FIA Formula E rounds as 2026 season approaches

Riyadh, February 13, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia has continued its role as a key host of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, with past rounds taking place in Diriyah and Jeddah, blending historic locations with sustainable electric motorsport.
Formula E debuted in the Kingdom in 2018 in Diriyah, with Portugal’s António Félix Da Costa winning the inaugural race for BMW i Andretti Motorsport. Subsequent editions featured multiple rounds, including a double-header in 2019, the first night race in 2021, and several competitive victories by global drivers such as Nyck de Vries, Sam Bird, Alexander Sims, Edoardo Mortara, Pascal Wehrlein, Jake Dennis, Nick Cassidy, Maximilian Günther, and Oliver Rowland.
In 2025, the championship moved to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, where Günther won Round three and Rowland secured Round four, highlighting the expansion of Formula E’s footprint along the Red Sea coast.
Preparations and anticipation are underway for Rounds four and five of the 12th season in 2026, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to hosting international sporting events that align with sustainability and clean energy objectives.
