Jeddah, Sept. 17, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Red Sea Film Foundation announced on Wednesday the launch of its “Rising Talents” program, aimed at empowering young Saudis aged 10 to 16 to tell their stories through short films that will be showcased during the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah’s historic district of Al-Balad from Dec. 4 to 13, 2025.
The program will feature selected films screened on Dec. 9, 2025, in the presence of young filmmakers and their families. It will conclude on Dec. 10 with an awards ceremony that includes cash prizes and recognition for the two best films, chosen by a jury composed of talented youth in cinema.
The participating works will focus on four themes central to the daily lives of young people: homeland, school, family, and friendship. The initiative aims to provide participants with a professional environment, offering exposure to film screenings, interaction with juries, and participation in an official celebration that strengthens their confidence and supports their creative ambitions.
Faisal Baltyuor, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, said the launch reflects a belief in the role of the new generation of creatives as future leaders of the film industry. He noted that the program is a direct investment in early talent, giving participants their first cinematic experiences and voices, in line with the foundation’s mission to empower local talent.
The “Rising Talents” program underlines the Red Sea International Film Festival’s commitment to nurturing new generations and creating opportunities for them to express their identities and stories, while contributing to the enrichment of both local and global cinema.
