National Center for Falcons Auction to Open October 1 in Malham
RIYADH, September 21, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The 2026 National Center for Falcons auction will run from October 1 to November 30 at the center’s headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The event will coincide with Saudi Arabia’s annual falcon trapping season and will be limited to juvenile migratory Peregrine falcons trapped within the Kingdom, known locally as Shaheen Bahri.
Adult Peregrine falcons, known as Qarnas, and Saker falcons, known as Hur, will be excluded.
The center said the restrictions formed part of its regulations for supporting the sustainability and preservation of falcon breeds.
Falcon trappers and falconers from across Saudi Arabia will participate in sales organized through the auction.
The center said the framework was designed to protect participants’ rights and provide transparency during transactions.
Bidding will be broadcast on television channels and social media platforms.
