Magnitude wins Dubai World Cup at Meydan

RIYADH, March 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Magnitude won the Dubai World Cup on Saturday at Meydan Racecourse, taking the main event of the 30th edition of the meeting.


Owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC, trained by Steve Asmussen and ridden by Jose Ortiz, the four-year-old won the Group 1 race over 2,000 metres on the dirt track.


Magnitude beat a field of nine international contenders to claim the $6.96 million winner’s prize from the total $12 million purse sponsored by Emirates.


He completed the distance in 2:04.38 and won by 0.98 lengths.


Japan’s Forever Young finished second to earn $2.4 million, while the UAE’s Meydaan placed third and collected $1.2 million.


The win gave the United States its ninth victory in Dubai World Cup history.
