King Salman Patronises Sixth Saudi Media Forum, Set for February 2027

RIYADH, July 22, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Saudi Arabia will host the sixth Saudi Media Forum from February 1 to 3, 2027, bringing international media executives, policymakers, technology institutions and industry experts together for three days of discussions on the forces reshaping global communications.

The forum will be held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Its return comes as the media industry faces rapid changes driven by emerging technologies, evolving audience behaviour and new models for producing and distributing information. The programme is expected to place these developments at the centre of an international dialogue involving both media organisations and the technology sector.

Saudi Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the support extended by King Salman and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reflected the leadership’s commitment to the continued development of the Kingdom’s media sector.

He said the royal patronage would allow the 2027 forum to build on the progress achieved during its previous editions while supporting Saudi Arabia’s growing presence within the international media landscape.

The Saudi Media Forum has developed into a meeting point for industry leaders seeking to assess future trends, introduce new professional initiatives and establish partnerships across national and institutional boundaries, according to Al-Dossary.

The inclusion of global technology institutions is expected to broaden the forum’s focus beyond traditional media operations, reflecting the increasing influence of technological transformation on journalism, broadcasting, digital content and audience engagement.

The event will also give national media professionals access to international expertise and wider professional networks. Developing Saudi talent, encouraging innovation and strengthening the sector’s ability to respond to technological change form part of the forum’s wider objectives.

Al-Dossary said these priorities were aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, which supports the expansion of national capabilities and the development of competitive industries able to contribute to the Kingdom’s economic and institutional transformation.

By convening decision-makers from media and technology in Riyadh, the sixth edition will seek to translate discussions about the industry’s future into new initiatives and international cooperation, while reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become an influential centre for global media dialogue.
