LONDON, June 2 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — British heavyweight Anthony Joshua and Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga held the official launch press conference for their July 25 bout at Jeddah Superdome, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The fight, titled “The Comeback,” will be held as part of Jeddah Calendar in collaboration with Riyadh Season and will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN.
The London press conference marked the first media appearance and face-off between Joshua and Prenga since the bout was announced.
General Entertainment Authority Chairman and Saudi Boxing Federation President Turki Alalshikh said the fight had drawn strong media and public interest and reflected Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a host of major international sporting and entertainment events.
“We look forward to delivering an exceptional experience for fans through ‘The Comeback’ and to building on the Kingdom’s success in hosting some of the world’s biggest sporting and entertainment events,” Alalshikh said.
Joshua thanked Alalshikh for making the fight possible and said he was focused on preparation.
“I have a clear goal in mind, and I fully understand the challenge ahead of me,” Joshua said. “On July 25, the better man will win.”
Prenga said he respected Joshua’s achievements but believed the bout was his opportunity.
“I am ready for this challenge, and I look forward to delivering a statement performance and shocking the world on July 25 in Jeddah,” Prenga said.
Joshua enters the fight with a professional record of 28 wins and four losses, including 25 knockouts. Prenga has 20 wins, all by knockout, and one defeat.
The event forms part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to attract major international sports and entertainment events through Riyadh Season and Jeddah Calendar.
