Jeddah to Host Arabian Gulf Cup for First Time From September 23
JEDDAH, September 12 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Jeddah will host the Arabian Gulf Cup for the first time from September 23 to October 6, with eight teams competing in the tournament’s 27th edition, “Khaleeji 27”.
Saudi Arabia will play in Group A alongside Iraq, Oman and Kuwait. Group B consists of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Yemen.
The tournament’s 15 matches will take place at the stadiums of King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City.
The competition will be held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal said the opening carried special significance because it coincides with Saudi National Day.
