RIYADH, March 31, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned European leaders that any intervention in the war would carry “dangerous consequences,” according to an Iranian account of a phone call with European Council President António Costa.

The warning came during a call in which Pezeshkian also accused the European Union of taking what he described as a negative and biased position toward U.S. and Israeli military action against Iran.

Iran’s president said any further foreign involvement in the conflict, under any pretext, would bring dangerous consequences, the Iranian readout said.

Pezeshkian also said Tehran had entered talks with the United States in good faith but was attacked again during the negotiations, which he said showed Washington was not genuinely committed to diplomacy.

Costa said in a post on X on Tuesday that he had urged de-escalation and restraint during the call.

“There must be space for diplomacy,” Costa said, adding that broader security concerns linked to Iran also had to be addressed.

European countries have so far stayed out of offensive military action in the war, although some have provided defensive support to Gulf states.

U.S. President Donald Trump earlier on Tuesday criticized European countries on social media for not doing more.
