Riyadh, March 18 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Gulf Arab states warned on Wednesday that attacks on energy infrastructure linked to Iran’s South Pars gas field pose a serious threat to global energy security and regional stability.

Iran accused the United States and Israel of targeting parts of its oil and natural gas production facilities earlier in the day, including the South Pars field, the world’s largest gas reserve.

The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs said targeting facilities linked to South Pars — which extends into Qatar’s North Field — represents a serious escalation.

The ministry said such actions threaten global energy supplies and regional security, warning of potential environmental damage and risks to civilians, maritime navigation and industrial infrastructure.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari described the reported targeting as a dangerous escalation, warning it could affect energy security, the environment and populations across the region.

He called for restraint and urged all parties to avoid actions that could further destabilize the situation.

Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said an attack on Iranian energy infrastructure would carry severe consequences, adding that a new phase of confrontation had begun.
