Madinah, January 19, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – An exhibition dedicated to the architecture of the Prophet’s Mosque has opened to visitors in Madinah, offering an overview of the mosque’s historical development, architectural features and expansion phases, officials said.
The exhibition, located south of the mosque and covering 2,200 square meters, includes several sections and interactive displays that document the evolution of the structure from its earliest construction to the present day. Exhibits feature architectural models, miniature representations and materials illustrating expansions carried out across Islamic history, including those undertaken during the Saudi era.
Organizers said the exhibition highlights key architectural elements, rare historical photographs, architectural plans and visual documentation of construction and expansion stages. The displays aim to enhance public understanding of the mosque’s development and the efforts dedicated to its preservation.
Interactive technologies, including digital screens, provide visitors with additional context and information, offering an experience designed to deepen cultural awareness and strengthen the historical and religious connection to Islam’s second holiest site.
