DUBAI, May 22 — Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority said private schools in the emirate will not be allowed to increase fees during the 2026-27 academic year under directives issued by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The measure forms part of Dubai’s second economic incentives package valued at AED1.5 billion, which includes support measures for private educational institutions and early childhood centres.

The package includes deferred licence renewal fees, instalment plans and the deferral of fines for educational institutions licensed by KHDA. Early childhood centres will also receive exemptions from licence renewal fees and certain municipal charges.

Dubai’s private education sector currently offers 17 curricula and serves a growing student population, with enrolment in private schools rising 6% in 2025, according to KHDA.
