Bahrain Warns U.N. Security Council Iran Threatens Navigation and Energy Infrastructure

Riyadh, March 5, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Bahrain’s ambassador to the United Nations warned the U.N. Security Council that Iran’s actions threaten freedom of navigation and critical energy infrastructure in the region.

Ambassador Jamal Alrowaiei told the council that Iran had targeted “critical infrastructure” in Bahrain and across the region.

He also echoed the Gulf Cooperation Council’s condemnation of what he described as Iran’s “unjustified” aggression and called for an immediate halt to the attacks.

“Any attempt to jeopardize navigation in the Strait of Hormuz will lead to an increase in energy prices and negatively affect international economies,” Alrowaiei said during a U.N. Security Council meeting focused on energy, critical minerals, and security.

Alrowaiei said Bahrain supports international cooperation to protect critical corridors and strategic infrastructure.

He also emphasized Bahrain’s support for international law and the sovereignty of nations.
