Abu Dhabi Sailing Team Shines on Opening Day of Mussanah Sailing Week in Oman

Muscat, October 20 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Abu Dhabi Sailing Team delivered an impressive performance on the opening day of Mussanah Sailing Week, held in the Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of elite sailors from across the region and around the world, the UAE news agencies reported.
Abdullah Al Zubaidi clinched first place in the ILCA 4 class, demonstrating strong form and determination to compete for the overall title in the upcoming races. In the ILCA 6 class, Mohammed Abdul Karim secured second place after a close and competitive race that extended to the final meters.
In the ILCA 4 Girls category, Emirati sailors dominated the standings, with Marwa Al Hammadi finishing first and Al Yazia Al Hammadi taking second, reaffirming the rising presence of Emirati female athletes in regional sailing competitions.
Meanwhile, in the Optimist class, Khalifa Al Rumaithi ranked eighth in the preliminary results following a series of competitive races that drew wide participation from regional sailing schools.
The technical staff of the Abu Dhabi Sailing Team noted that the strong results reflect the success of continuous training and advanced development programs implemented by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy, as part of its long-term strategy to nurture Emirati sailing talent and enhance competitiveness in international events.
The team will continue its participation throughout the week, aiming to secure additional medals and raise the UAE flag on the winners’ podium at the conclusion of the championship.
