Riyadh, October 3, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Minister of Culture and Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan chaired the inaugural meeting of the board of trustees of the Villa Hegra Foundation on Friday in AlUla, before inaugurating the headquarters alongside French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati.
The meeting outlined the foundation’s mission as a global hub for cultural exchange, with a focus on visual arts, design, cinema, and performing arts.
Prince Bader expressed gratitude to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister and chairman of the RCU board, and to French President Emmanuel Macron for their support in strengthening the Saudi–French cultural partnership.
He described Villa Hegra as a landmark project between the RCU and the French Agency for AlUla Development (AFALULA), aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 by advancing cultural cooperation, sustainable development, and international collaboration.
The foundation will host artist residencies, workshops, performances, and training programs, and will join the French Viva Villa network, alongside Villa Medici in Rome and Villa Albertine in New York.
Officials said Villa Hegra will enhance AlUla’s standing as a global destination for culture and the arts while fostering knowledge exchange and talent development.
