WASHINGTON, June 16 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on Tuesday that the United States has not released the text of its peace agreement with Iran because officials need to “sequence this in the right way,” CNN reported.
Vance told the Megyn Kelly show that Iran and mediators including Pakistan and Qatar had asked the United States to handle the release carefully.
“There are sensitivities that exist in the Arab and Muslim world that we’re trying to be responsive to,” Vance said.
He added that he did not fully understand the reasoning behind the secrecy.
Conservative foreign policy hawks have called for the text to be released, amid concerns that the agreement could resemble the 2015 Iran nuclear deal reached under the Obama administration.
It remains unclear what concessions the United States has made under the agreement.
Vance said the text of the memorandum of understanding would be released “at the very latest” on Friday.
