UAE President presents Paraguay’s Peña with Most Reformed Government Global Award at WGS 2026

DUBAI, February 5, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan presented Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios with the Most Reformed Government Global Award at the World Governments Summit 2026 in Dubai.


The summit ran from February 3 to February 5 with high-level international participation. The award is positioned among the summit’s top honours and recognizes national progress in governance quality, transparency, sustainable development and digital government.


In remarks delivered during the ceremony, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed described stronger government capability as central to managing rapid global change through efficiency, innovation, excellence and proactive policymaking, and congratulated Paraguay on the recognition.


The ceremony was attended by Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, alongside sheikhs, ministers, senior officials and international delegates.


According to the summit framework, award assessment covers economic progress, governance strength, institutional effectiveness and development-oriented policymaking, with evaluation conducted in collaboration with knowledge partner Ernst & Young. Criteria also include transparency and accountability, digital transformation, implementation governance, measurable public-sector outcomes, long-term sustainability and citizen-centric innovation.
