UAE condemns Iran attack on Bahrain, warns of regional escalation

RIYADH, March 24, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The United Arab Emirates condemned Iran’s attack on Bahrain on Tuesday and warned that it risked widening tensions in the Gulf, after the strike killed a Moroccan civilian contractor working with the UAE Armed Forces and wounded Emirati and Bahraini personnel.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, described the attack as a violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty and a threat to the kingdom’s security and stability.
The strike killed a Moroccan civilian contractor affiliated with the UAE Armed Forces, wounded five members of the UAE Ministry of Defence and injured a number of Bahraini soldiers.
The ministry described the incident as a dangerous escalation threatening the security of Gulf Cooperation Council states and the wider region.
The UAE reiterated its support for Bahrain, expressed condolences over the death of the Moroccan contractor and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
