Riyadh, March 26, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – U.S. President Donald Trump voiced frustration with Iran’s approach to negotiations on Thursday, warning that time was running out for a deal as uncertainty persisted over efforts to end the conflict.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Iranian negotiators were behaving inconsistently, claiming they were seeking a deal privately while publicly downplaying any movement toward an agreement. He warned Tehran to “get serious soon” and said the consequences would not be “pretty” if it failed to do so in time.
His remarks came after earlier U.S. statements that diplomacy was still being pursued despite Iran’s failure to immediately accept a U.S.-backed framework aimed at ending the war. Reuters reported on Wednesday that the White House said Trump was prepared to intensify military action if Tehran did not accept defeat, while mediation efforts by Pakistan, Turkey and Egypt were continuing.
Associated Press reported on Thursday that indirect contacts were still being facilitated by Pakistan, Egypt and Turkey, even as Iran and the United States remained far apart and no diplomatic breakthrough had emerged.
Axios also reported that Trump’s warning came amid continuing efforts by regional mediators to bring both sides toward a possible high-level meeting, while Iran publicly pushed back against the U.S. position.
