Trump Threatens Attack on Oman Over Strait of Hormuz Interference

RIYADH, August 17 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — US President Donald Trump threatened to attack Oman if the country obstructs American efforts in the Strait of Hormuz, issuing the warning during an interview with Fox News’ Trey Yingst.

“If Oman gets in the way, we’ll bomb the shit out of them,” Trump said.

The statement marked a second threat against Oman, a US ally, within three months. During a Cabinet meeting in May, Trump said: “Oman will behave just like everybody else, or we’ll have to blow ‘em up.”

Trump also told Fox News that his administration had established a direct backchannel with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He indicated that reaching an agreement was not subject to an immediate deadline.

“They’re good poker players, but they’re dying,” Trump said. “I have no time schedule. I’m not in a hurry.”

The comments followed the expiration on Monday of a 60-day period for peace talks between the United States and Iran. The period was agreed in June, but it ended without the announcement of concrete plans to conclude the war.

Iran said on Monday that its discussions with Oman concerning the Strait of Hormuz remained complex and were continuing.
