Trump Says US Will End $4 Billion in Annual Funding to Israel After 2026

WASHINGTON, November 3 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had agreed to end $4 billion in annual US funding to Israel at the close of 2026.
Speaking on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends”, Trump said the agreement had been reached months earlier and argued that Israel no longer needed the payments.
“We’ve already agreed that by the end of this year we won’t be paying Israel. Now we’ll help Israel if they need it,” he said.
The announcement comes as the two countries consider the future of US military assistance. An existing memorandum of understanding provides Israel with $3.8 billion annually and is due to expire in 2028. Reuters reported that it was unclear which funding Trump was referring to.
Trump also said Israel would remain able to buy US weapons. He argued that some Democrats and left-wing politicians were using the annual funding to criticise Republicans.
Netanyahu has previously called for a gradual shift away from US military aid. In a May interview with CBS, he said he hoped to end Israel’s dependence on that support within a decade. In a June letter to a US congressman, he advocated moving from aid recipient to partner.
