Trump says Iran wants U.S. to reopen Strait of Hormuz

RIYADH, April 29(Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran had told Washington it wanted the United States to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible while it dealt with a leadership crisis.
Trump said in a social media post that Iran had informed the United States it was in a “state of collapse” and wanted the waterway reopened.
It was not clear how Iran had conveyed the message. There was no immediate Iranian comment.
A U.S. official also said Trump was unhappy with Iran’s latest proposal to resolve the two-month war, dimming hopes for a settlement to a conflict that has disrupted energy supplies, fuelled inflation and killed thousands.
