ANKARA, July 8 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he believed the memorandum of understanding with Iran “is over” after a series of strikes across the region, in the clearest sign yet that his preliminary deal with Tehran had all but collapsed.

“It’s a waste of time dealing with them,” Trump said at the NATO summit in Turkey.

His comments followed a statement by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it had launched strikes on U.S. military targets in Bahrain and Kuwait in response to U.S. strikes on Iran.

Trump criticised Iran for targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, saying Tehran had violated a ceasefire.

The U.S. president described Iran as “dirty players” and said Washington was wasting time pursuing talks.

Trump also said he wanted to “do our business” rather than continue diplomacy with Tehran, as tensions across the Gulf continued to escalate.
