Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Introduces Sharjah Design Council and New Global Design Initiative

SHARJAH, May 20 — Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Head of the Sharjah Creative Quarter, has issued a decision establishing the Sharjah Design Council, WAM reported.
The council will be followed by the launch of Sharjah Design Days, a specialised platform bringing together designers, creatives and specialists from around the world.
The decision is aimed at developing Sharjah’s design ecosystem through specialised initiatives, programmes, partnerships and training platforms for emerging and professional designers.
The council will also develop strategies and policies for the design sector, oversee programmes and initiatives, organise exhibitions and events, and launch sustainable initiatives in prototype design and manufacturing.
