Schumer Criticizes US-Iran Agreement, Calls Memorandum a Fiasc

RIYADH, June 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - US Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer criticized the agreement with Iran, calling it a “fiasco” and arguing that President Donald Trump “gave away the store,” CNN reported.
“This is not the art of the deal. This is the art of surrender,” Schumer said. “Trump didn’t get peace through strength, he got payoff through weakness. Americans got almost nothing we wanted and needed, and Trump gave away the store.”
Schumer said Democrats would not vote for any potential deal that includes $300 billion for rebuilding in Iran.
Asked about Trump’s position that the United States would not provide the money itself, Schumer said: “We’re not paying for it.”
He described the funding as “surrender money” and accused Trump of reaching what he called a weak agreement that placed the United States in a difficult position.
Schumer also accused Trump of starting the war with Iran to distract from domestic issues, saying the president had “no aim” and “no goals.”
The Democratic leader said most Senate Republicans were also not moving quickly to support the agreement.
