Riyadh, Sept 22, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Post (SPL), in partnership with Red Sea Global, has released a SAR3 commemorative stamp collection celebrating the opening of Shura Island, the central hub of the Red Sea destination and a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 tourism strategy.

The new issue highlights the Kingdom’s ambition to position the Red Sea destination as one of the world’s leading luxury tourism projects while underlining the harmony between sustainable development and environmental preservation. SPL said the stamps are designed to showcase Shura Island’s role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s cultural and economic identity at a time of rapid growth in the Kingdom’s tourism sector.

This launch builds on the success of the first collaboration between Saudi Post and Red Sea Global in August 2021, when a collection of six stamps was released to highlight the biodiversity of the Red Sea, including coral reefs, mangrove forests, and rare marine life.

Shura Island officially welcomed its first visitors in 2023 and currently operates five luxury resorts alongside the Red Sea International Airport (RSI). Eleven additional luxury resorts are scheduled to open progressively in 2025, expanding the Red Sea destination into a major global tourism hub.

Eng. Ahmed Ghazi Darwish, Chief Administrative Officer and Official Spokesperson of Red Sea Global, said: “This commemorative stamp collection serves as a powerful way to share the story of our destinations with the world. In 2021, the first collection introduced the Red Sea destination and received significant attention. Today, we highlight our jewel, Shura Island, which we announced has welcomed its first guests this year.”

Saudi Post emphasized that its commemorative stamps are issued to mark national and international milestones, from cultural and religious events to major infrastructure and tourism projects. Each release reflects Saudi Arabia’s heritage, development, and global positioning, making them highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
