Jeddah, March 5, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Directorate of Passports is deploying advanced technologies at King Abdulaziz International Airport and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport to help pilgrims and visitors complete travel procedures more quickly and efficiently.
The directorate said an e-gate system allows entry and departure procedures to be completed independently by verifying biometric data within seconds, aiming to streamline passenger flow and reduce waiting times at passport control during the Ramadan Umrah season.
The services are being provided across several sites serving pilgrims and visitors, including major mosques, border crossings and reception centres.
