RIYADH, June 13 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Saudi midfielder Mohamed Kanno said the Green Falcons enter the FIFA World Cup 2026 with high ambitions and a determination to achieve a new milestone for Saudi football.
In an interview with FIFA, Kanno linked his development since the 2022 World Cup to the growth of the Saudi Pro League and the arrival of international players who have raised competition levels.
He described Saudi Arabia’s victory over Argentina at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as one of the greatest moments of his career and a memorable occasion for the nation.
Kanno acknowledged the difficulty of Saudi Arabia’s Group H fixtures against Spain, Uruguay and Cape Verde.
The 74-cap international stressed that every match would be challenging, while setting qualification from the group stage as a key objective.
Kanno added that Saudi Arabia aims to make history again and inspire future generations, as the 1994 national team did.
