RIYADH, Oct 7 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said attacks targeting facilities at Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport on Tuesday and Wednesday killed three people and injured 36 others, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.


GACA said emergency teams and relevant authorities responded immediately to both attacks in accordance with approved procedures and contingency plans.


At Abha International Airport, two female residents, one Moroccan and one Algerian, passed away.

The authority said 28 people were injured in the attack, including Saudi citizens and two residents of Bangladeshi and Filipino nationalities.


At King Khalid International Airport, one Sudanese resident passed away.


Eight people were injured in the attack on the Riyadh airport, including five Saudi citizens, two Egyptian residents and one Pakistani resident.


GACA said all of the injured were transferred immediately to hospital for medical care.


The two attacks also caused material damage.


The authority said it is continuing to assess the damage in coordination with relevant security agencies and is taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and employees and safeguard Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation system.

GACA did not identify those responsible for the attacks in the statement.
