RIYADH, February 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Fashion Commission and Kering on Tuesday launched the second edition of the Kering Generation Award in the Middle East and North Africa for 2026, during the opening ceremony of a global retail sector leaders forum hosted at the Embassy of France in Saudi Arabia.

The new edition follows the 2025 programme, which drew more than 500 applications, shortlisted 21 projects for the final round and produced three winners, according to the organisers. Participants received mentoring programmes, workshops and opportunities aimed at strengthening their global presence, while the 2026 programme expands its scope to a broader regional ecosystem.

The award will focus on four tracks in sustainable fashion: innovation in renewable materials and clean production; circular design and sustainable business models; nature protection and animal welfare; and consumer awareness and cultural engagement.

The programme targets startups across the Middle East and North Africa operating in sustainable fashion, or delivering positive impact in the sector, provided they can demonstrate innovation and measurable sustainability outcomes.

Fashion Commission Chief Executive Officer Burak Cakmak said the second edition builds on last year’s results and described sustainability as a key pillar for the future of the fashion sector in the Kingdom, adding that the partnership supports innovators working on circular economy models and environmental responsibility.

Kering Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer Marie-Claire Daveu said the award reflects the group’s view of sustainability as a driver of innovation, and that expanding the programme in the region would strengthen the impact of leading solutions.

Kering Middle East and Africa President Mairal Youssef said the expansion reflects confidence in the region’s creative and entrepreneurial potential, adding that the programme provides practical tools and direct support for emerging talent seeking a stronger position in global sustainable luxury.

The organisers invited startups to apply.
