Riyadh, March 11, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Saudi Falcons Club said it is continuing efforts to protect falcon populations through its “Haddad” program, an initiative focused on the scientific reintroduction of falcons locally and internationally.
The program aims to support falcon conservation amid environmental challenges affecting certain species, including habitat loss and rapid environmental changes.
Officials said the initiative follows a scientific framework designed to restore falcon populations in accordance with recognized environmental standards.
The program includes local releases within Saudi Arabia, particularly in selected reserves and natural habitats for the mountain peregrine falcon, as well as breeding the saker falcon in captivity.
It also includes international releases of migratory falcons, including saker and peregrine species, with the goal of helping falcons return to their natural migration routes and stabilize their ecological populations.
The initiative is implemented through national partnerships involving the National Center for Wildlife Development, which serves as the scientific and regulatory partner.
Field protection of release sites is supported by the Special Forces for Environmental Security, ensuring the program complies with environmental regulations.
Officials said the program reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to environmental conservation and wildlife protection, noting that the falcon remains an important cultural symbol deeply rooted in Saudi heritage.
