Saudi Environment Week draws 800 participants and 500 caricatures from 56 countries for "Green Impact" art initiative

RIYADH, May 6 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - The “Green Impact” programme, held as part of Saudi Environment Week 2026, has brought together 800 participants submitting more than 500 caricatures works from 56 countries and over 300 photography entries, in an initiative that uses visual arts to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.
The exhibition focuses on themes including afforestation, beach protection and pollution reduction, drawing on artistic works that reflect human and cultural dimensions of environmental consciousness.
“The Green Impact initiative contributes to employing visual arts as an effective tool for embedding environmental concepts and promoting sustainable behavior. She added that such initiatives support efforts to raise community awareness and encourage individuals to adopt environmentally friendly practices, in line with sustainability targets and the preservation of natural resources for future generations.
Saudi Environment Week 2026 runs for a full week across the kingdom, with events organized simultaneously by all 13 regional emirates, reflecting each region’s distinct environmental character and contributing to sustained impact through awareness programmes and community activities.
