Saudi Civil Defense Urges Caution as Thunderstorms Forecast Across Most Regions Through Wednesday
RIYADH, Oct 10 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defense urged the public to exercise caution and avoid valleys and flood-prone areas as thunderstorms are expected to continue across most regions of the Kingdom through Wednesday.
Civil Defense advised people to remain in safe locations, refrain from swimming in floodwaters and follow official instructions issued through media outlets and social media platforms.
The National Center for Meteorology said Makkah Region is expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall that could lead to flash floods and be accompanied by hail and downdraft winds stirring dust and sand.
Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in other parts of Makkah Region.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast across Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Tabuk, Al-Jouf and the Northern Borders regions, with possible flash floods, hail and dust-stirring downdraft winds.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Madinah, Hail and Najran.
