Saudi Civil Defense continues weather awareness campaign amid climate fluctuations

RIYADH, April 16 — Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defense is continuing a public awareness campaign on weather phenomena, urging residents to follow safety instructions and remain alert during changing weather conditions.

The campaign, launched under the slogan “Important to Know,” is aimed at strengthening prevention awareness and improving community preparedness in dealing with climate-related fluctuations.

Civil Defense urged the public to stay in safe places, avoid approaching falling objects or electrical wires, drive with caution, and keep away from areas exposed to falling trees or signboards, as well as elevated and open locations.

It also called on residents not to ignore warnings and to follow instructions issued through official channels.

For emergency assistance, Civil Defense said the public can call 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and 998 in the rest of the kingdom.
