Saudi Camels Claim Three Cups, 34 Titles in Laqaya Category at 2025 Saudi Olympic Cup

RUMAH, November 3 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi camels secured three cups and achieved 34 titles in the Laqaya category at the 2025 Saudi Olympic Cup camel racing championship, held on Sunday at the Rumah Camel Racing Track, the Saudi Camel Sports reported.

The fifth edition of the championship continues today with Jatha category competitions, featuring 24 races over a six-kilometer track.

Saudi Camel Sports has allocated more than SAR 10 million in cash prizes for camel owners competing across various races in the competition.

The Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority is participating as a strategic partner in the event, supporting cultural and environmental activities held alongside the races. The collaboration aims to strengthen the cultural presence of camel racing within the reserve, while promoting environmental awareness and protecting natural resources.

Hosting the championship within the reserve highlights the alignment between cultural heritage and environmental sustainability, reflecting the Kingdom’s social values and the historical and modern relevance of camel racing as a national sport.

Camel racing is considered one of the oldest traditional sports in Saudi Arabia, with strong links to the Kingdom’s identity, tribal traditions, and contemporary cultural expression.
