RIYADH, December 17 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Authority for Competition (GAC) announced that Saudi Arabia will host, in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Regional Competition Capacity-Building Programme (RCCBP) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
According to a GAC statement, the programme is being launched under the framework of a memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia and the OECD aimed at deepening cooperation across key policy areas in support of Saudi Vision 2030.
The RCCBP will deliver workshops and specialised training programmes to support effective enforcement of competition laws and promote alignment with OECD standards and international best practices. The programme will target officials from competition authorities, sector regulators, judicial bodies, and relevant government agencies across the MENA region.
The designation of Saudi Arabia as host of the regional programme marks a milestone in strengthening institutional capacity and fostering competitive markets to support productivity, innovation, growth, and employment across the region.
