Saudi Arabia’s Non-Oil Exports Rise 5.5% in August 2025: GASTAT

Riyadh, October 26, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports, including re-exports, increased by 5.5% in August 2025 compared with the same month of 2024, according to the International Trade Bulletin issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).


The share of non-oil exports to imports slightly declined to 39.1% in August 2025 from 39.8% a year earlier.


Machinery, electrical equipment, and parts represented 25.4% of total non-oil exports, followed by chemical products with 22.7%. On the import side, machinery, electrical equipment, and parts accounted for 29.8% of total imports, rising 24.7% year-on-year, while transportation equipment and parts made up 14.1%, up 6.1% over the same period.


Oil exports rose 7% in August 2025, increasing their share of total goods exports from 70.2% in August 2024 to 70.5% this year.


The trade balance surplus grew by 4.1% compared to August 2024, driven by a 7.4% increase in imports.


China remained the Kingdom’s largest trading partner, accounting for 16.2% of total exports and 26.4% of imports, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 11.1% of exports and 5.4% of imports, and India with 9.2% of exports.


Exports to the top 10 trading partners made up 67.4% of total exports, while imports from the top 10 countries accounted for 64.5%.


King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam handled 25.6% of total imports, making it the Kingdom’s main entry point, followed by Jeddah Islamic Port with 21.9%.


According to GASTAT, the international trade data is compiled from administrative records provided by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and the Ministry of Energy for oil exports, with classification based on the Harmonized System (HS) developed by the World Customs Organization.
