Saudi Arabia Records 7,760 Residency, Labor and Border Security Violations

RIYADH, June 7 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia recorded 7,760 violations of residency, labor and border security laws during inspection campaigns carried out from May 28 to June 3, the Saudi Press Agency reported.


The violations included 4,060 residency violations, 2,574 border security violations and 1,126 labor law violations.


Border authorities apprehended 1,184 people attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally, including 28% Yemenis, 70% Ethiopians and 2% from other nationalities.


Authorities also arrested 25 people attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally and 16 people involved in transporting, sheltering or employing violators.


A total of 21,774 expatriates are undergoing regulatory procedures, including 20,455 men and 1,319 women.


Authorities instructed 14,495 violators to contact their embassies or consulates to obtain travel documents, while 850 were advised to make travel arrangements and 4,690 were repatriated.


Penalties for facilitating illegal entry into the Kingdom, transporting violators, sheltering them or providing assistance may include up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SAR1 million, along with confiscation of vehicles and properties used in the offense.


Violations can be reported by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Region, or 999 and 996 in other parts of the Kingdom.
