Saudi Arabia records 11,175 residency, labor and border violations in one week

RIYADH, May 10 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia recorded 11,175 residency, labor and border security violations during inspection campaigns across the kingdom from April 30 to May 6, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Ministry of Interior said the violations included 6,153 related to residency laws, 3,619 to border security and 1,403 to labor laws.
Authorities apprehended 1,411 people attempting to enter Saudi Arabia illegally, including 36% Yemenis, 62% Ethiopians and 2% from other nationalities. They also arrested 23 people attempting to leave the kingdom illegally.
The ministry said 19 people were arrested for involvement in transporting, sheltering and employing violators.
A total of 28,678 expatriates are currently undergoing procedures to enforce regulations, while 11,272 people were repatriated.
The ministry warned that facilitating illegal entry, transportation or shelter may carry penalties of up to 15 years in prison and fines of up to SAR1 million.
